Skills, economy and growth scrutiny commission
The commission has a remit of the prosperity of the borough and development, in particular economic development, employment and large scale schemes.
The current review of the commission will look at the skills of the labour market needed over the next 10 years in Hackney and more broadly.
Other work programme one off topic discussions will look at:
- support to local businesses
- integrated initiatives to help people back into work
- inequality at work – this could include in-work poverty, under employment, low paid and low skilled work
- a joint session with the children and young people scrutiny commission looking at systematic links between schools and local jobs and evaluation and measurement of the Council’s economic regeneration policies and projects
