We are proposing to build a new teaching pool at London Fields Lido.
London Fields is common land, so we need to apply to the Planning Inspectorate (PINS) for commons consent for the development.
An advert has been placed in the Hackney Citizen. The advert advises residents that they can look at a hard copy of the application form and accompanying documents at either the Town Hall or London Fields Lido receptions. The application folder is available to view at each reception from Friday 28 July to Monday 28 August 2023. The application folder is also available to view online.
If you would like to comment on the proposals, email commonlandcasework@planninginspectorate.gov.uk. You must submit your comment before 28 August 2023.

We committed to providing more green spaces for residents to enjoy and helping to improve biodiversity. West Reservoir has potential to provide a significant new accessible green and blue space for the public.
We’re planning to make West Reservoir more accessible and better used by the community. We will also improve its existing facilities. This will enhance its environmental sustainability and maintain its uniqueness.
Improvements will be guided by discussions with the local community, but are likely to include the following:
- a new accessible green space for local residents and visitors (via an entrance and / or bridge on the north east of the Reservoir), allowing people to circulate around the eastern bank of the Reservoir only
- an accessible bridge across New River (it currently has steps)
- enhanced habitats for wildlife
- improved landscaping
- improvements to existing facilities and activities
- a more accessible cycling and walking route around New River path
- a more accessible path network (linking West Reservoir better to Woodberry Down estate, Woodberry Wetlands and Green Lanes)
- more cycle parking
- new reed beds
- stabilisation of the New River banks
- a comprehensive volunteer programme
