You need to tell us if you’re moving your business or if you have any other changes. This will ensure that you pay the correct amount of business rates.
Moving your business to Hackney

Moving your business out of Hackney
If you’re moving your business out of Hackney please complete the vacation form. We’ll send you a final bill.
Moving within Hackney
If you’re moving within Hackney please complete both forms:
We’ll send a final bill for your original property and also begin sending bills, with your new account number, to your new address.
Tell us about any other change to your business or premises
By doing this, you make sure you’re paying the right amount and don’t get a backdated increase in your business rates bill.
The kinds of changes to your business or premises that may affect your business rates include:
- you make physical changes to your premises
- the nature of your business changes
- you sublet part of your property
- you merge 2 or more properties into 1
- you are currently receiving a relief or reduction and this should no longer apply
- the Valuation Office changes the rateable value of your property
- someone else become jointly liable for the rates with you, for example, you take on a partner
