Wayman Court and Graham Road

In summer 2022, we talked with local residents about a proposal to replace the garages and car park on Wayman Court and the Garden of Earthly Delights meanwhile space on Graham Road with new council homes. We have committed to supporting the garden to identify a new home when the time comes for development of the site. Since then, our cabinet has given us the go-ahead to work with a design team and residents to develop plans for these new homes.

These are two of 15 locations across Hackney that will make up a new programme to build around 400 new homes. 75% of the new homes will be council homes for social rent.

Designing the new homes

We have been working to appoint an architect team. They will start to develop proposals and share ideas for new homes. They will also work on wider improvements in the estate.

The design process will start in early 2024. Residents will have many chances to have their say and shape the designs. Subject to this design process and gaining planning permission, the earliest we expect construction work to begin will be in 2026.

Get involved

We will consult and work with local residents throughout the design process, to ensure the new homes help those in need and improve the estate for everyone.

Residents will have many chances to get involved and have their say.

We’ll write to nearby residents inviting them to our consultation events through letter drops, newsletters and emails.
