Transport in Hackney
Transport strategy 2015-25
The Hackney transport strategy 2015 to 2025 sets out our strategic transportation aims, objectives and priorities for the next ten years.
Statistics on Hackney’s transport are available from our census 2011 page.
Hackney Central Gate Submission
This Gate 2 Submission sets out the elements required for the Gate 2 (assessment of feasibility design) submission to TfL for the Pembury Circus and Amhurst Road proposals, part of the Hackney Central Liveable Neighbourhood scheme. Unfortunately, in December 2021 it was announced that due to central government spending restrictions the liveable neighbourhood funding would be terminated. The submission included:
- healthy Streets Checks
- outputs of transport models
- cycle Route Quality Criteria Assessment
- equality Impact Assessment
- road Safety Audits (Stage 1)

Local implementation plan
Our local implementation plan sets out what we will do to meet the Mayor of London’s transport objectives, including ensuring 80% of all journeys are walking, cycling or on public transport:
As conditions and funding evolve, we create updated plans to show how we’re achieving the goals and targets we set out in the local implementation plan. See the most recent plans and supporting documents below:
