STEPS is an acronym for Supporting Transition and Empowering People Service.
We support people that struggle to engage with mainstream services. This might be because of:
- substance use
- homelessness
- criminal justice involvement
- mental health
STEPS practitioners typically offer 18 months of support. This gives clients time to establish a strong and trusting relationship with us.
Consent and collaboration are important to us. We work with the client to help them achieve their personal goals. We can help with:
- support for housing, benefits and bills
- accessing psychological and medical treatment
- accessing education, training, volunteering or employment
- building confidence and life skills
- improving relationships
- minimising harms associated with substance use
- accessing detox and rehabilitation services
- immigration matters
Some STEPS practitioners specialise in street homelessness. They work with people who are rough sleeping or with a history of rough sleeping. Our rough sleeping practitioners work across the City of London and Hackney.
