Free swimming in Hackney

Under 18s, over 60s, disabled people and their carers can swim for free across the borough, all year round at Britannia Leisure CentreClissold Leisure Centre and Kings Hall Leisure Centre. Disabled people and their carers can also swim for free at London Fields Lido.

Running events for young people

Young people in Hackney can participate in many running events each year.

TCS London Mini Marathon

Every year young people from Hackney can compete against young people from over 30 London boroughs and 9 UK regions in the Virgin London Mini Marathon. Find out how to take part in this year’s TCS London Mini Marathon.

The London Youth Games

Every year, over 20,000 young people from every London borough compete in over 30 different sports at the London Youth Games. The results from all the different sports competitions are added together and the winning borough wins the Jubilee Trophy. Find out more about the London Youth Games.

Hackney Marshes Saturday Youth Football League

Affiliation to the Hackney Marshes Saturday Youth Football League 2019/20 is now open. The league is centralised with all of the games taking place at the iconic home of grass roots football Hackney Marshes or Mabley Green. The league caters for U8 – U17 age groups and in the 2018/19 season saw in excess of 135 teams taking part in the competition.
