Library fees and fines

Reminders

You will be sent a reminder after 28 days, when an item you’ve borrowed becomes overdue. Only one notification will be sent out. It’s free by email or text so please keep your library account up to date. No charge for under 18s, over 60s and disabled people.

Overdue fees

• books, CDs and spoken word items: 22p per day (maximum £9.25 per item)
• no charge for under 18s

Reservation charges

• 55p for all items in stock in Hackney Libraries or Libraries Consortium
• no charge for under 18s

Replacement membership card

• adults: £1.20
• under 18s, senior citizens and people with disabilities: 60p

Lost or damaged stock

£7 per item unless otherwise indicated.

Books, DVDs and CDs

Free – no loan charge.

Computers

Use of computers and wifi is free for all members of Hackney Libraries.

• A4 black and white: 15p
• A4 colour: 60p

Photocopies (single-sided)

• A4 black and white: 15p
• A3 black and white: 25p
• A4 colour: 60p
• A3 colour: £1.20
