Learning disabilities partnership forum
The forum involves local learning disabled people, carers, commissioners and people who deliver services.
We’re working together to make City and Hackney a learning disabilities friendly place.
We work in partnership to make sure that learning disabled people have a voice and can shape local services.
Our meetings
We meet as a full partnership forum 4 times a year. Our meetings are chaired by a learning disabled representative and a representative from the Council.
You can learn more about our meetings by watching the videos below.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the forum isn’t currently meeting in person. We’re still doing some work together online or via telephone, including working together remotely to create this page and plan for learning disabilities awareness week 2021.
We plan to meet again in person when it’s safe to do so.
Our work
We have 4 main working groups:
- my health
- my community
- where I live
- independence
As a partnership forum we have developed some key pieces of work:
- City and Hackney learning disabilities strategy – our 2019-2024 strategy for how we’ll support learning disabled people
- City and Hackney learning disabilities charter – a description of what we’ll do to champion the rights of learning disabled people
