Joe White Gardens

In September 2023 we announced the renaming of Aske Garden to Joe White Gardens. Joe White was an inspirational basketball coach and youth leader. He started his career as a professional basketball player, becoming the most successful youth coach of his generation, a record that remains unsurpassed.

A short walk from Old Street and just South of Shoreditch Park, these delightful gardens are framed by tall trees and boast a popular tennis court and multi-use games area.

The gardens were refurbished in 2012 and  in 2014 were awarded a Green Flag award. The awards are given to the best green spaces in the country and are awarded each year to make sure the quality of the green space remains high.
