Housing delivery test action plan
The housing delivery test was introduced by the Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government in 2018.
It measures net additional dwellings built in a local authority’s area against the homes required. The method for calculating the figure is set out in the housing delivery test measurement rule book.
Local planning authorities that don’t fully meet their delivery rate targets are required to address the shortfall.
Results for Hackney
The housing delivery test 2020 measurement results were published on 19 January.
We delivered 90% against our target, based on the number of homes delivered in the borough over the 3 year period between 2017 and 2020.
The result requires the Council to prepare an action plan aimed at further increasing housing delivery in Hackney.
