Fostering – transferring from another agency

If you currently foster, either for an independent fostering agency or other local authority, we may be able to offer a fast track assessment to make you a Hackney approved foster carer.

The transfer process may differ slightly depending on whether you have a child in placement or not at the time of your intention to move.  For more information, see our guide to transferring (PDF 932kb).

To help speed up your reassessment, we need access to the assessment carried out by your current provider. Whilst they own this document, you have a legal right to part B of the assessment and any other information held about you in accordance with the transfer protocols of the Fostering Network, the Data Protection Act 1998 and the up-coming GDPR.
