Hackney Faiths Network
We created the Hackney Faiths Network in 2016 in collaboration with Hackney CVS. It was previously called the Hackney Faith Forum.
We celebrate the contribution of the faith communities in Hackney. We also publicise the work carried out by faith communities and identify any areas the network could work together on in the future.
Who we are and how we work
Our terms of reference explain:
- who chairs the network
- why the network exists and how it can support the faith communities in Hackney
- how the network runs, including when we hold meetings and how we run them
Find out more in our terms of reference (google doc).
Activities
We organise a range of activities. These include:
- formal meetings every 4 months and informal meet-ups
- training, information and networking sessions on issues of social concern raised by faith communities
We discuss topics, such as:
- violence against women and girls
- improving food access
- employment support
- mental health support
Understanding the needs of faith communities
See Hackney CVS’s report outlining the size and composition of Hackney’s faith communities.
