Donating to our collections
We want to develop a collection which reflects all aspects of life in Hackney. We are always happy to discuss donations that you think should have a home in Hackney Archives. This could include:
- family papers
- photographs
- local business records
- project outputs
- community records
If you would like to discuss a donation, contact us on archives@hackney.gov.uk, phone us on 020 8356 8925 during our opening hours, or write to us at: Hackney Archives, Dalston CLR James Library, Dalston Square, London E8 3BQ.
What happens to records donated to Hackney Archives?
When we receive records, we undertake to preserve them in suitable and secure conditions, complying as far as is possible with the relevant national standards for archives management.
Records in our care will be sorted and catalogued by professional staff and made available to the public free of charge (subject to any reasonable requirements of privacy and confidentiality) in our archives research room.
How to find out more
