Air Quality Management Area (AQMA)
The whole of Hackney was declared an AQMA in 2006 due to higher levels than allowed for nitrogen dioxide (NO2) and particulate matter (PM10). The orders declaring the AQMA:

Air Quality Action Plans (AQAP)
Following the declaration of the borough as an AQMA, we’re required to have an AQAP in place. You can see a copy of our current plan, which sets out how we intend to improve air quality over a five-year period, below. A copy of the previous AQAP is also provided for reference. We must develop an AQAP in response to the declaration of an AQMA. This is our previous plan and our current plan, which sets out how we intend to improve air quality over the five-year period:
