Parks and green spaces
Hackney has 58 parks and green spaces totalling 282 hectares. Our green spaces range from the largest concentration of football pitches in Europe at Hackney Marshes to the beautiful and historic settings of Springfield Park and Clissold Park.
The borough’s housing amenity spaces are all peat-free. The compost used in our parks and green spaces is either composted on-site from leaves or collected from the North London Waste Authority. Topsoil is normally Norfolk-screened topsoil, which is peat-free.
