Covid-19 variants are in areas of Dalston and Shoreditch – get tested now

Two Covid-19 variants of concern have been found in areas of Shoreditch and Dalston.

The Council is now asking everyone who works or lives in these affected areas to get a test to help stop the spread of these variants in the community.

These areas are around Old Street and Great Eastern Street, in Shoreditch; and parts of Dalston town centre, around Dalston Lane and Kingsland High Street.

How to register and return your home test

If you have collected a home test from a collection point or ordered a home test online there are some additional steps you need to take:

  • take your test according to the instructions in the booklet that comes with your kit
  • but do not register your test with the link in the booklet, instead:

You must follow this ‘variant of concern’ registration process:

  • register your test kit
  • scan the barcode on your test kit when prompted
  • select the ‘at home’ option when asked where you are taking the test
  • select the ‘I do not know my Royal mail barcode’ option when prompted
  • follow the instructions until the end of the process
  • if you can’t scan/use the QR code, call 119 for assistance

Drop off your test within 24 hours at your nearest test site, below, and help #KeepHackneySafe by stopping variant spread in the community.
