Recycle clothes and textiles
Do you often find your wardrobe filled with unloved and unworn clothes that you may wish to dispose of?
Around Hackney, there are 90 clothing banks where you can dispose of your unwanted textiles responsibly by donating them to our partnering charities:
What can I donate?
- clothes (any kind, all styles)
- shoes (paired)
- accessories (ie bags, scarves, hats etc)
- linen (ie curtains, towels, bed sheets)
What can’t I donate?
- no duvets or pillows
- no overly damaged or stained clothes
What happens to my donations?
Clothes and textiles in good condition will be donated and sold for re-use in charity shops.
Items that aren’t suitable for donations can be recycled and made into new items, such as padding for chairs and car seats or industrial blankets.
So instead of putting your unloved clothes in the rubbish bin, you can give them a second chance in a new home.
