Parking exemptions for key workers
Important changes to parking exemptions for key workers
We are continuing to enforce parking restrictions as normal to keep traffic flowing and maintain parking availability for resident and business permit holders.
Following the recent easing of lockdown measures, Hackney Council is ending the key worker parking exemption scheme on Friday 4 September for everyone except NHS workers, NHS volunteers and social care workers.
If you’re not an NHS worker, NHS volunteer or social care worker, the parking exemption for your vehicle(s) will expire on Friday 4 September 2020.
From 4 September you are at risk of receiving a parking charge notice (PCN) if you park at a location without a valid permit, visitor voucher or pay and display session where required.
We are supporting critical workers on the front line of the borough’s response to the coronavirus pandemic by providing temporary parking exemptions to those who need them.
This allows critical workers to park in any resident or shared use parking bay in Hackney.
NHS, volunteer and social care workers
If you are an NHS worker, NHS volunteer or social care worker and we’ve previously awarded you a parking exemption, the scheme remains in place for you until further notice. You do not need to do anything.
Please be advised, however, that parking exemptions are temporary, remain under review and may be withdrawn at any time.
