We’re currently introducing a new design and are making sure everything works.
Key stage 1 and 2 sessions
Sessions for primary schools
We offer a range of sessions for Hackney primary schools, using our specialist knowledge and resources to help pupils learn about a range of topics specifically related to the diverse history of the local area.
We work with Hackney teachers to ensure the sessions help schools deliver the national curriculum and meet the needs of diverse classes.
To book a session, find out more or to join our mailing list call 020 8356 2658 or email email@example.com.
The programme runs throughout the year alongside additional offers including:
Black History season
Every year, we run free, creative workshops exploring that year’s Black History Season exhibition with Hackney primary schools.
Junior citizenship scheme
December to January
Transport for London works in partnership with Hackney Museum, giving Year 6 classes in the borough the chance to learn safety and citizenship skills before they start secondary school. Watch our junior citizenship film to see what happens. For more information or to book, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Through our valued partnerships, we have also run sessions as part of various other initiatives. Past sessions have included:
- Refugee Week sessions with child migrant stories
- artist-led workshops relating to our changing temporary exhibitions
- East End opera workshops with Brolly Productions
- Fairtrade Fortnight workshops
- citizenship workshops with The Only Way is Ethics
Contact us for more information about how we can tailor sessions for groups with special educational needs or if you’re interested in bringing a KS3, 4 or 5 class to the museum. To book a session, join our mailing list or find out more call 020 8356 2529 or email email@example.com.
