If you’re a member of Hackney libraries, you can search the library catalogue, see your books on loan, and reserve items and renew or extend existing loans online, You’ll need your library card number and PIN.

There are over five million books, CDs, audio books, DVDs, and online directories. This is because our catalogue is combined with 12 other London boroughs. Local terms and conditions may vary in each borough.

Reserve or renew items online

Reserve or renew

You’ll need your library card number and PIN. If you need a new library card or want to know your PIN, visit your local library. We cannot tell you your PIN over the phone.

Renew by phone

Call 020 8356 2539, Monday to Friday, 8am-8pm and Saturdays 9am-1pm. You will need your library card number. If you need a new library card, visit your local library.

Renew in person

You can renew items by visiting your local library – bring your library card.

Get reminders and updates by email

You can be notified when reserved items are available for collection or when items are about to become overdue so you can avoid fines. Request this service at your local library branch.
