Coronavirus – all libraries closed
We are sorry to advise that libraries in Hackney are closed until further notice. The Council does not feel that they can operate them safely within the Government guidelines on social distancing and other coronavirus control measures.
The Community Library Service will continue to operate based on the current Government guidance, and the Library Service will be exploring ways that it might be able to provide some form of service to other vulnerable residents over the coming months.
Residents who have any enquiries should contact: email@example.com, or can renew books, CDs or DVDs online or by phone 020 8356 2539. You can also access thousands of e-books, audiobooks, newspapers and magazines for free through our digital library. Just use your Hackney libraries membership. Not a member? Join for free now. You don’t have to activate your new membership at a Hackney Library. You’ll be given a temporary membership number which will allow immediate access to Overdrive, BorrowBox, Ulverscroft Digital (ULPB), PressReader and RBdigital.
To help library users during this time, we are also suspending all library book fines. Also, the return date for all items currently out on loan will be extended to 30 April 2020.
