What we can help with

You can get in touch with us if you need help with things like:

  • mental health
  • looking after yourself, such as washing, dressing and going to the toilet
  • looking after your children, for example because of a disability
  • getting around
  • taking part in community activities, like lunch clubs
  • household tasks like cleaning, shopping or taking the rubbish out
  • keeping your house safe and clean

How we can help

We can give you advice and recommend support, including:

  • making connections with support in your community
  • support to stay at home
  • home adaptations and occupational therapy, if you have trouble with tasks at home
  • home monitoring and personal alarms, if you’re at risk of harm and want someone to check on you
  • visits to your home from a carer who can help you remain independent
  • supported housing, for people who want to live independently with 24-hour support available
  • care homes
  • help with a disability or condition
  • help if you feel depressed, anxious, or have another mental health concern
  • specialist support for visually impaired, deaf and deafblind people

You can also arrange some help yourself without contacting us, like travel passess or leisure activities.

Paying for your care

You’ll generally be expected to pay towards the cost of social care.

If you have less than £23,250 in money or property, you may get some or all of your support costs covered.
