Since the introduction of personal budgets, older or disabled people using social care have a choice over how their needs are met and who supports them.
The tables below show the main social care services available for older people or people with a physical disability to buy with a personal budget.
You can use this information to plan what care and support services you want to use – by yourself, with your family or with a social worker or support planner. You can, however, use your personal budget on a wider range of support than just these services.
We will arrange services from the list below for you. You could also take your budget as a direct payment, to purchase services directly. To find out more see direct payments.
Arranging home care support independently
If you don’t qualify for financial support from the Council, or you use direct payment, you may wish to arrange home care support independently. You can search the iCare directory for more providers using the buttons below. You can also find out about providers and care agencies and view their registration details by visiting the Care Quality Commission (CQC). Read the CQC’s guide to what standards to expect from care providers.
