Alcohol strategy

The alcohol strategy sets out the Council's priorities for reducing alcohol related harm over the next 3 years.

The strategy draws on consultation and engagement with residents and partners and a range of local and national evidence summarised in our .

The following objectives are identified in the strategy to reduce alcohol related harms in Hackney:

  • encourage healthier drinking behaviours
  • commission appropriate and responsive treatment services
  • support families, carers, and young people affected by alcohol misuse
  • promote responsible drinking environments

The strategy sets out a number of actions to meet these broad objectives.

To ensure the delivery of actions identified in the strategy, a supporting action plan will be developed and monitored annually.
